Natural carotene is a widely recognized natural pigment derived from palm fruit, which is one of the most carotene-rich fruits globally, containing approximately 33% cis and trans A-carotene, 65% beta carotene, and 2% other carotenoids. Natural carotene is more natural and safer than synthetic pigments and the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI), which refers to the acceptable daily intake per 1kg of body weight over a lifetime without associated recognized health risks ‌. It is the first and final criterion for evaluating the toxicity of food additives and establishing the maximum amount of use, and can be utilized in a variety of foods according to the production requirements.
